Sanskrit : भुवनस्य पितरं गीर्भिराभी रुद्रं दिवा वर्धया रुद्रमक्तौ। बृहन्तमृष्वमजरं सुषुम्नमृधग्घुवेम कविनेषितासः॥ ऋग्वेद ६-४९-१०॥ Hindi: हे मनुष्य! तुम प्रबुद्ध संतो से प्रेरणा प्राप्त करो। न्यायप्रिय परमेश्वर जो दुष्टों को रुलाता है और भले मनुष्यों को सुख देता है। जो अजर है, अमर है। हमें ऐसे प्रभु की दिन-रात उत्तम कर्म और ज्ञान द्वारा स्तुति करनी चाहिए। (ऋग्वेद ६-४९-१०) English: O Man! You should get inspiration from enlightened sages. The just God Who makes the wicked cry and gives happiness to the good. The one who is ageless and immortal. With noble deeds and knowledge, we should praise and invoke such a Lord day and night. (Rig Veda 6-49-10)

Sanskrit : मा काकम्बीरमुद्वृहो वनस्पतिमशस्तीर्वि हि नीनशः। मोत सूरो अह एवा चन ग्रीवा आदधते वेः॥ ऋग्वेद ६-४८-१७॥ Hindi : हे बुद्धिमान मनुष्यों! विभिन्न पक्षियों के आश्रय पेड़ों को मत काटो। पाप को काटो। जिस प्रकार एक शिकारी पक्षी को गर्दन से पकड़ता है ऐसा किसी निर्बल व्यक्ति के साथ तुम मत करो। उसे दुख मत दो। (ऋग्वेद ६-४८-१७) English : O wise people! Do not cut down trees which provide shelter to several birds. Cut off the sin. As a hunter catches a bird by the neck, you don't do it with the weak person. Don't hurt the innocent people. (Rig Veda 6-48-17)
